Thoughts on Yarn Content

So, I have a bunch of stash yarn.  While definitely saving my nice stuff for non-yarn bomb projects, it comes down to using all acrylic yarn or getting away with using a blended yarn.  I haven’t really found a 100% acrylic yarn that feels nice while I am working with it. However, I don’t really want my yarn bomb to smell like a wet sheep if it rains. Such thoughts are occupying my brain, while I am procrastinating on doing real things.

Try throwing red heart yarn in the washer on a medium hot wash with a ton of fabric softener and drying on a medium high heat. It loosens the twist so it’s not quite as scratchy.

I’ve heard about that technique with finished projects, though not with a skein. I’m not too worried about the texture of the sign cozy, as it will be outside. It’s more that if I don’t like the feel of the yarn while I am working with it, I just won’t continue with the project. 😦

I get that. If you throw red heart in the wash it does get softer just put it in a woolite delicates bag. You can find them at any store that sells detergent.

That could totally work! I will have to try that out. Thanks!
